With the exception of Revell's Audi R10 model and the super-expensive resin kits from Model Factory Hiro, Studio 27, etc.... nobody really makes sports prototype kits. The one in particular I would LOVE to see is the Peugeot 908. It is a truly gorgeous car, and took 1st, 2nd, and 6th overall in this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Edit: EGADS! That's a huge picture. I'll make it a click instead of inline

So does Tamiya have any plans in the works to make this one?

On a simallar sort of note, do Tamiya have plans to release any new molds of any F1, WRC, GT, LeMans type cars etc etc etc etc The current re-releases are nice but some more upto date cars would be nice without having to pay crazy prices for resin kits

It has been far too long since Tamiya has shared an 1/24 prototype sports cars. There is a huge gap in this genre that begs to be filled!

Tamiya, lets hope the release of the Ferrari F60 spawns a renewed enthusiasm for 1/24 prototypes as well.

The Audi R15, and especially such cars as the Lola prototype customer range of coupes and spyders would be a great opportunity for sales of multiple examples based off the same tooling.

cheers

You guys have it right on. The popularity of these sports, although very popular across the pond, here in the U.S. are starting to gain momentum. Not sure why we're so slow at picking up the great racing events.
