A few weeks ago I had posted in my other thread about the 956 I was working on. Well, today I put the final finishing touches on it.

All in all, this is one of my favorite builds ever. The PE parts were a bit of a pain, and I couldn't do the vinyl/PE seatbelts (superglued my fingers twice while trying... don't ask). I haven't done the PE parts around the windshield either, and I'm debating whether or not I want to touch them at all. I don't know if white glue will hold them while they dry, and I don't want to risk crazing the windshield by using cyano.

And the one problem I had was that front bumper decal. For some reason, the rest went on SO easily... hit them with some solvaset, and they just grabbed every contour. But the front bumper decal tore in 4 places, and I haven't the foggiest clue why. The only thing I can think is that I somehow spilled something on it before applying it.

In the next few days, I should have my Tamiya Carrera GT done. I've been working on it at the same time as the 956... just going back and forth. Now I have to find the next model I want to do.... I'm thinking it'll be another Tamiya, and probably another Porsche :-D

Just curious, as I'm workin on this one as well, but in regards to the exhaust pipes they give, how much do they add to the look? I haven't gotten the PE set yet as I figured most of the stuff is gonna be hidden once I finish the model (usually display the model once or twice on the net & then that is it).

Is the extra PE set worth it in the end?

thanks

That is definitely a beautiful car. Thanks for posting. My only suggestion would be to bump up the exposure a stop or two. The shots look too dark on my screen.

Nice clean build.
For the p.e. on the window have you thought about using future floor wax? Or even some Tamiya clear brushed onto the part. This way it will dry clear and no worries about crazing/fogging.
