More of a product continuation question;

Do we know what's going on with the 1/32 Thunderbirds kit? I just went looking for one and noticed they are getting in short supply. The Tamiya USA site has them listed as Discontinued. There’s pretty good aftermarket support for the 1/32 Tamiya F-16’s – it’s not as good as the 1/48 support but it’s not too bad at all. I might be out in the weeds on this but I thought there were some rumors of an “N” packaging of the 1/32 F-16’s? It sure would make sense to do so along with the parts for a “D” model.

Can anyone comment on this kit or any future plans? It would be a shame to see these disappear from the market.

Regards,
Jim

Jim,
I believe that these were less saleable than the combat version, which might account for them being knocked into touch. They were nice but did not have the internal detail like the removeable jet engine, which I felt was a little sad, as the price was of course the same or thereabouts.
The F16CJ is a fabulous kit, I really need to make some more progress on mine.

Perhaps Tamiya should have released it along with decals (plus parts for the ALQ-188) for a Nellis Aggressor Viper, since both are Block 32 models. But if Tamiya will release a 1/32 F-16C/N Aggressors in 1/32 scale...it would be better along with an F-16D. :)
